Q2 25 Update

Q2 25

Q2 2025: Markets Rebound, Bets Take Shape โ€” Net Worth Hits $417,350 ๐Ÿ“ˆ

After the whirlwind of Q1 โ€” buying a flat and making a major career pivot โ€” Q2 has been all about steadying the ship and letting compounding do its work.

While Iโ€™ve continued investing in my new role and settling into my London flat, this quarterโ€™s gains came primarily from the markets: my net worth is now $417,350, up from $344,500 โ€” a $72,850 increase.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Portfolio Recovery: The Comeback of Tech

This quarter saw a recovery in some of my largest positions, with Google and PayPal bouncing back after a tough Q1. These remain high-conviction, long-term holds, and itโ€™s been encouraging to see the market recognizing some of their underlying strength.

I also took a few higher-risk, asymmetric bets โ€” notably Snapchat, which saw a short-term pop. While still volatile, it added some spark to the portfolio. On the other hand, solar energy holdings dragged, reflecting continued uncertainty in the renewables sector.

A weaker dollar boosted the USD value of my GBP assets, including both salary and property equity โ€” giving the numbers an extra lift without any structural change in holdings.

๐Ÿงพ Financial Snapshot (as of Q2 2025):

๐Ÿ”ญ Looking Ahead: A Transition on the Horizon

Q3 will mark the completion of my PhD studies โ€” a milestone thatโ€™s been years in the making. While immensely rewarding intellectually, this also signals the end of my academic scholarship, and with it, a drop in income starting next quarter.

That said, Iโ€™m excited to close this chapter and free up more focus for what comes next โ€” both professionally and financially

Q2 was all about resilience, recovery, and recalibration. With the markets stabilizing, my next focus is continuing to grow โ€” with intention.

Onward.
