Q2 25 Update

Q2 25

Q2 2025: Markets Rebound, Bets Take Shape β€” Net Worth Hits $417,350 πŸ“ˆ

After the whirlwind of Q1 β€” buying a flat and making a major career pivot β€” Q2 has been all about steadying the ship and letting compounding do its work.

While I’ve continued investing in my new role and settling into my London flat, this quarter’s gains came primarily from the markets: my net worth is now $417,350, up from $344,500 β€” a $72,850 increase.

πŸ“ˆ Portfolio Recovery: The Comeback of Tech

This quarter saw a recovery in some of my largest positions, with Google and PayPal bouncing back after a tough Q1. These remain high-conviction, long-term holds, and it’s been encouraging to see the market recognizing some of their underlying strength.

I also took a few higher-risk, asymmetric bets β€” notably Snapchat, which saw a short-term pop. While still volatile, it added some spark to the portfolio. On the other hand, solar energy holdings dragged, reflecting continued uncertainty in the renewables sector.

A weaker dollar boosted the USD value of my GBP assets, including both salary and property equity β€” giving the numbers an extra lift without any structural change in holdings.

🧾 Financial Snapshot (as of Q2 2025):

πŸ” Looking Ahead: A Transition on the Horizon

Q3 will mark the completion of my PhD studies β€” a milestone that’s been years in the making. While immensely rewarding intellectually, this also signals the end of my academic scholarship, and with it, a drop in income starting next quarter.

That said, I’m excited to close this chapter and free up more focus for what comes next β€” both professionally and financially

Q2 was all about resilience, recovery, and recalibration. With the markets stabilizing, my next focus is continuing to grow β€” with intention.

Onward.
