May update
Unfortunately, my net worth has only increased from US$130,544.00 to US$133,136.00, which is a disappointing result. The growth of US$2,592.00 falls short of my expectations, and I was hoping to see a larger improvement.
On the positive side, the performance of Meta has been nothing short of extraordinary. It’s been a great investment that has delivered outstanding returns.
Unfortunately, not all of my investments have been as successful. My portfolio’s diversification into Chinese stocks, such as Alibaba, as well as some fintech stocks and Oatly, has significantly underperformed the broader market. This has been a disappointment for me.
Despite this, I’m pleased to report that my savings have been higher than expected. This is largely due to a performance bonus that I received, which has helped to offset some of the underperformance in my portfolio.
On the downside, my expenses have exceeded my estimates. This is mainly due to some discretionary purchases, such as the iPhone 14, and holiday expenses.
As I’ve emphasized in all my previous posts, it’s vital to maintain a cautious and strategic approach to investing. Although my portfolio’s diversification has led to underperformance compared to the market this month, I’m still pleased with the overall balance of my investments, and I remain confident in the future.
I’m grateful for all of you who have followed my journey thus far, and I’m looking forward to sharing more updates with you soon. Thank you for your support and encouragement.
